The UK’s Future Local Area Air Defence System (FLAADS) is an on-going programme intended to deliver a common weapons platform to equip forces in the air, land and maritime environments.
In support of one of the many associated projects, Verotec have this month delivered a batch of 20 Slot VME64 Extensions backplanes. Often used in defence applications, VMEbus is a tried & tested, rugged computing platform which dates back to the ‘80s, and has since undergone a number of enhancements including “Extensions” to provide additional features in response to increasing user demands.
