The Large Hadron Collider at CERN is a 27KM long particle accelerator, and home to the ATLAS detector – a huge, 7000 tonne experiment located 100M underground.
The associated electronic control and data acquisition systems are housed in many 19” racks, all of which require constant cooling. Verotec have been selected to design & manufacture a minimum of 50 special ventilation chassis, each required to house 2 x tangential fans (also known as a crossflow blowers) and provide magnetic shielding to the electrical motors.
Designed to work in ambient air temperatures between –5°C and + 50 °C the units produce a laminar, sheet-like airflow evenly across the desired area (rather than a concentrated stream) and operate at very low acoustic noise levels.
If we can be of assistance with any bespoke systems development, please get in touch.
